Why I Am Posting A Picture Smelling A Candle With Headphones On

July 1 hit and with it came two more statement credits that I am entitled to with my American Express Platinum card and Rob’s American Express Business Platinum card.

You see, with my beloved Amex Platinum, I get $100 Statement Credit ($50 and $50 semi annually) At Saks Fifth Avenue.  If you guys have an Amex Platinum too, check out your benefits, you will see this too……

As of July 1, 2018. American Express and Saks Fifth Avenue teamed up with a new benefit for called “Shop Saks with Platinum.” Starting July 1, 2018, enrolled U.S. Platinum Card Members will be able to get up to $100 in statement credits annually for purchases made at Saks Fifth Avenue, using their Platinum Card. Specifically, each year the card member will receive up to $50 in statement credits when they shop at Saks from January through June, and up to $50 in statement credits when they shop at Saks from July through December and pay with their Platinum Card.

With Rob’s Business Platinum (which I am actually thinking about nixing when the next $550 fee is due), he (um me) gets up to $100 in statement credits between January and June and up to $100 in statement credits between July and December for U.S. purchases with Dell on his Business Platinum Card when enrolled.

I like to get my shopping out of the way early in the cycle, I don’t want the statement credits hanging over my head.  So when July 1 came, I pretty much immediately bought a diffuser from Saks ($48) and a set of headphones (ok not wireless but still free and noise canceling) from Dell ($99). Note, I did pay the small shipping charge because my items were too close to the $50 and $100 credits that I was entitled to.

If you have a Platinum or Business Platinum, MAKE SURE YOU ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THIS BENEFIT.  The fees for these cards are high!  Let’s at least defray the cost a little bit.
