I caused my Chase Ultimate Rewards account to go negative. I did this inadvertently, I swear. I really wanted a one piece black jumpsuit. I had no time to go to the mall. So I decided to shop through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Shopping mall and take advantage of a 4 PTS/$1 bonus earn at Nordstrom.com.
I bought A LOT of jumpsuits, knowing that I was going to return all but one. I earned about 8,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points shopping through Chase.
Before I returned the merchandise to Nordstroms and not on purpose, I depleted my Chase Ultimate Rewards account when I booked our stay at THE FOUR SEASONS! in Vancouver using my Chase points.
I returned all but one of the jumpsuits and lost all of those Chase points I had earned on the original shopping spree. My Chase Ultimate Rewards account now has a negative balance. Sorry Chase! But I am sure after the closing dates on my Chase Sapphire Preferred card and Chase Freedom card, my account will be positive once again!
