Visa Infinite Versus Visa Signature Versus Visa Traditional

There are three types of Visa-branded credit cards: the Visa Infinite, the Visa Signature and the Visa Traditional.  Each of the cards differs in terms of benefits and protections, with the Infinite being the highest level card (and most expensive) and the Traditional being the lowest.

A Visa Infinite card, provides the highest level of benefits.  These relate to access to unique perks and premium travel and purchase protections.  You can read about all of the details here.  Some examples of the Visa Infinite cards are the Chase Sapphire Reserve cardJ.P. Morgan Reserve Visa Infinite CardU.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite Card, and the Chase Ritz-Carlton Rewards Visa Infinite Credit Card.

It is important to note, that while Visa provides a list of benefits for Visa Infinite cardholders, what you actually get depends on your card and the cards can take away some of the Infinite benefits and add other perks as well. The banks look at the Visa Infinite benefits as suggestions as to what the card should have.  Make sure to look at all of the details of the actual card if you apply.

A Visa Signature card provides a lower level of benefits and protections but they are still useful.  You can read all about these details here. Some examples of the Visa Signature cards are the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, as well as the personal line of Chase Southwest cards, the Premier, Plus and Priority cards.

A Visa Traditional card provides the lowest level of benefits and protections.  You can read the details here.

Just like with the Visa Infinite, with the Signature and Traditional cards, benefits may vary by card issuer, so please check with your card issuer to learn more about your specific Visa card benefits and features.
