More points on groceries. (also applies to the Surpass card).
The usual bonus category earning structure on the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card is as follows:
1. Earn 14x points per $1 spent at a hotel or resort within the Hilton Portfolio.
2. Earn 7X points per $1 spent for flights booked directly with airlines or amextravel.com, car rentals booked directly from select car rental companies and U.S restaurants.
3. Earn 3X points per $1 for all other eligible purchases on your Card
So normally the 3x category would be what your would earn at grocery stores. However, from May 1 through July 31, 2020 you will earn 9 additional points on top of the 3 points you already earn (for a total of 12 points) from American Express for each dollar of eligible purchases charged on your Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card at supermarkets located in the U.S. Note, superstores and warehouse clubs are not considered supermarkets).
In addition, the Free Weekend Night Rewards are Expanded to Weekdays. (Also applies to Surpass card)
Now, Unexpired Free Weekend Night rewards as of May 1, 2020 and new Free Weekend Night Rewards issued until December 31, 2020 on the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card can now be used any night of the week (not just on weekends). New Free Weekend Night Rewards issued from May 1 through December 31, 2020 will be valid for 24 months (rather than 12 months) from the date of issuance. Free Weekend Night Rewards must be redeemed on or before the expiration date.
$250 Hilton Resort Credit
Recall, you receive a $250 HILTON RESORT STATEMENT CREDIT for eligible purchases at participating Hilton Resorts. These purchases can include room rate. Incidental charges (including charges made at restaurants, spas, and other establishments within the hotel property) must be charged to your room and paid for with your Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card at checkout in order for them to be recognized as Hilton Resort purchases. However, without us really traveling due to Covid-19, Amex has made the credit easier to use. From June 1, 2020 through August 31, 2020 purchases made at restaurants located in the U.S. on your Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card will qualify toward the total amount of statement credits you can receive as part of the $250 Hilton Resort Statement Credit benefit. Earning Base Points toward Elite Qualification and Lifetime Diamond Status (Also applies to Surpass card and the Hilton Honors American Express Card)
The Bonus Points earned (see above) from purchases on your card that post to your Hilton Honors account between May 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020 (“Promotion Period”) will be considered Base Points and Base Points count toward Elite tier qualification in the calendar year 2020 and Lifetime Diamond Status. There is no limit to the number of Bonus Points that will be counted as Base Points during the Promotion Period.
