Two TSA Pre√ Experiences- Las Vegas To JFK

Unknown

he first time we went through security at McCarran when returning from Vegas, it was great, probably our most successful use of TSA Pre√ to date.  The regular security line was huge and the TSA Pre√ empty.  We flew through.  And the best part about getting through so fast was that we had a ton of time to spend in the Centurion Lounge, a lounge I was able to get us into because of my American Express Business Platinum card.  You can read about our visit to the lounge here.

At this point you may be wondering why we went through the TSA Pre√ line two times.  We made a rookie mistake, thats why!

We leisurely left the lounge at 930pm for our 10:10PM flight.  We had to take a quick tram ride to get back to our terminal and gate but we had 40 minutes before our flight, what could go wrong?

Well the tram also went to baggage claim.  We were not paying attention when we got off the tram and just followed the large crowd of people.  When I finally realized that we followed the people right to baggage, it was too late, the doors closed behind us and we were locked out of the airport.  There was none around to help us and not to mention the time was ticking away.  This all went down at about 945PM.

Run!!!!   The five of us ran through the airport, back up the stairs, past all the counters, back to security.  There was still a long line for regular check in and a few people on the TSA Pre√ line.   We begged them to let us cut, they did, we once again whizzed through the line.

We made it to the gate as the plane was boarding, sweaty and tired but relieved. Had we not had the TSA Pre√, we definitely would have missed our flight.  Like I have said before, Rob was a bit skeptical about how often TSA Pre√ really works.  This is one of the reasons I am keeping track of all of our TSA Pre√ experiences for awhile.  How do you feel about it now Rob?????
