I just traded in my Business Platinum for a Personal Platinum for a variety of reasons that you can read about. I was excited to try to take advantage of the personal card’s Uber credits, a feature that was not available to me with the business version. I added my Platinum card to everyone’s Uber apps (my kids take Ubers more than I do) and thought we were good to go.
I was wrong. I did not receive a credit for my daughter’s $15 NYC ride, despite the fact that my Platinum card is linked to my Uber app. Apparently, in the Uber app, you must choose to have the credit applied when you ride (I still haven’t done that yet-hoping it is easy to figure out). I learned all of this from the Amex rep who I called to inquire about why I was not getting my Uber credit. During that call, he also gave me a $15 courtesy credit for the ride. As always, thanks Amex for taking such good care of me.
Now, how to figure out how to work the Uber credit…..
