The Points Mom

New Features to the Amex Gold Card And Rose Gold Is Back Too!

Already one of my favorite cards and one that I pull from my wallet almost everyday to earn flexible and valuable Membership Rewards points is the American Express Gold Card. Unlike the last time when Amex debuted the card in the sleek rose gold color for a limited time, the card is back in the rose gold color permanently.

In addition, the new benefits to the card are as follows:

$120 in Uber Cash-The card will provide up to $100 annually in Uber credits for U.S. rides. However, be careful, the benefit is really for $10 in Uber credits for U.S. rides every month, and no, the credits do not carry over each month. You use the monthly credit or you lose the monthly credit. Make sure you add your American Express Gold Card as a payment method to your Uber app to get the benefit.

Uber Eats Pass-Through 12/31/2021, you can get up to 12 complimentary months of Uber Eats Pass, (value up to $119). With the Pass you get unlimited $0 Delivery Fee and 5% off eligible restaurant orders over $15. To get the pass you need to download or update to the latest version of the Uber Eats App and and add your eligible American Express Card to your wallet. Then you need to claim your complimentary Uber Eats Pass in the app and confirm enrollment.

Note, the Pass will auto-bill starting 12 months from initial enrollment into the complimentary Eats Pass at then-current monthly rate. So put it in your calendar to cancel if you don’t intend to keep using it. That is what I did.

No more $100 airline incidental credit after 12/31/21-Current cardholders should also be aware that that the $100 airline fee credit where you can select a qualifying airline and then receive up to $100 per calendar year in statement credits is expiring for existing cardholders after 12/31/21. New applicants will not receive this benefit.
