It’s A Good Time To Be A Binge Watching Fanatic Right Now

In normal times, there are few incentives from the banks with respect to streaming services spending.  You can see some of the cards that offer bonuses on streaming services purchases here.

However, these are not normal times and some of the banks realize how much we are using (signing up for) streaming services right now and are rewarding us for it.

Let’s start with Amex…

American Express Platinum Card-FROM MAY THROUGH DECEMBER (so for the next 8 months), you can receive a statement credit of $20 per month on select streaming services.  Which streaming’s services?  Click the following link and SCROLL DOWN, there are a lot of streaming services on the list.
Retail Rewards Information – American Express US.

Let’s move to Capital One…

In normal times, you can use the Capital One Purchase Eraser feature to “erase” travel purchases.  You can use your miles to erase these purchases at a rate of 1 cents per  mile. For example, a $500 plane ticket would cost you 50,000 Capital One miles.

Also, in normal times, if you wanted to use your Cap One miles for any other purchase (gift cards, Amazon, etc), your rate of redemption would be much less favorable than 1 cents per mile.

However, during these not so normal times, through June 30th, you can use your Capital One miles for some alternative NON TRAVEL statement credits at the favorable rate of 1 cents per mile.

If you have a Venture Rewards Card or a VentureOne Rewards Card you can redeem your miles at 1 cents per mile for eligible food delivery, takeout and streaming services. (through Arpil 30, 2021).

As of July 1…..adding this new streaming perk from Chase!

With the Chase Sapphire Reserve you can earn a total of 10X points on up to $1,500 spent on streaming services and with the Chase Sapphire Preferred, you can earn 5x points.  This offer is through September 30th.
