There are changes coming to the Chase Freedom Unlimited card and they are some good ones. In addition to the current earn of 1.5% cash back per $1 (or 1.5 points if you also have a Sapphire or Ink card) on EVERY PURCHASE, there are now additional categories where you can earn bonus points.
1. Earn 5% or 5 points per dollar on on travel purchased through Chase Ultimate Rewards
2. Earn 3% or 3 point on dining at restaurants, including takeout and eligible delivery services
3. Earn 3% or 3 point on drugstore purchases.
For those of you with a Sapphire, you may be wondering if you still need it given these new categories. Stay tuned for why I say yes, you still need a Sapphire.
