Citibank is making adjustments to the perks on two of its American Airlines AAdvantage cards.
First, recall that with a Citi/AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite MasterCard you get a $125 American Airlines Flight Discount after you spend $20,000 or more in purchases during your card membership year and renew your card. The Flight Discount expires one year from date of issue of the certificate. If you had a flight discount that was supposed to expire between March 31 and May 31, you will now receive a six-month extension.
With the CitiBusiness/AAdvantage Platinum Select World MasterCard you earn an American Airlines Companion Certificate each year of card membership in which you spend $30,000 or more in purchases and renew your card membership. The certificate is valid one year from issue. However, Customers who hold a companion certificate expiring in 2020, will have until June 30, 2021 to use the certificate.
