Walgreens/Duane Reade Added As New 3% Back Categories Using Apply Pay If You Have The Apple Card

Learn About The Apple Card Here

Recall that with the Apple Card, you earn Daily Cash as you spend and the percentage back was based on your type of purchase, with 3% Daily Cash when you used Apple Pay at select partners, starting with Uber and Uber Eats.  Now Walgreens and Duane Reade are joining that group of merchants. Currently, using Apple Pay you will get 3% back at Walgreens/Duane Reade retail stores, on the Walgreen’s app and on the website.

Now, your Apple card earnings structure looks like this…

1. Earn 3% Daily Cash on Apple purchases.

2. Earn 3% Daily Cash when you use Apple Pay at select partners-Uber and Uber Eats, Walgreens and Duane Reade.

3. Earn 2% Daily Cash every time you buy ANYTHING using Apple Pay.

4. Earn 1% Daily Cash at vendors that don’t take Apple Pay.

Recall, the card has no Annual Fee  and no foreign transaction fees when you use your card on purchases made outside the United States.

You get a percentage of your purchases back EVERY DAY, unlike some other cash back cards where you earn your cash back when your monthly statement closes.  Note, you can only use the Daily Cash as “cash” if you have an Apple Cash card issued by Green Dot Bank. If you do not have an Apple Cash account, Daily Cash can be applied by you as a credit on your statement balance.  Most of you probably have one in your wallet like I did.  I never knew what this was for, but I have always had it in my digital wallet.

The Apple Card Has Protective Security Features. It has the same security features as Apple Pay — Face ID, Touch ID and unique transaction codes.  In addition, the physical card has no numbers, instead the card number is locked away in a secure place in your iphone. Lastly, you get instant notification every time you buy something.

It Has Other Cool Features Too…

1.   If you see a charge that you don’t recognize, you can tap on it and you can see on a map where the charge was made.

2.  Every purchase you make is categorized by type and is displayed by category color.  The same colors are displayed in your periodic (ie-weekly, monthly, etc.) spending summaries.

3. For online vendors that do not accept Apple Pay, there is a virtual card number in the Wallet app that autofills for you when you’re using Safari.

4. Wow, there are no late fees if you miss a payment.

5. If you unfortunately find yourself not being able to pay your balance in full (remember, not advised), Apple Card estimates the interest you’ll wind up paying, based on the payment amount you choose. This is in contrast to most credit card statements that emphasize your minimum amount due.

6. You can text for support and you get a text back right away.

7. You payment is due on the last day of the month despite the day you opened the account and you get automatic payment reminders.
