I got this Barclays Bank US Airways Premier World MasterCard about 2 years ago, took advantage of the spend bonus (at that time it was 35,000 Dividend miles) and canceled the card in year 2 when it came time again to pay the $89 annual fee. Although, I did call and try to get the fee waived, I was unsuccessful. I always try to get the fee waived as I have had much success with Citibank in getting annual fees waived, (See Getting Started Number 7), so I will continue to keep trying with other banks. Who knows, maybe one day it will work!
The current offer for the card is pretty good if you need US Airways Dividend miles. You earn 40,000 bonus miles after your first purchase and payment of the $89 annual fee. On spending, you earn 2 miles for every $1 you spend on US Airways purchases and 1 mile per $1 on other purchases. You can lean more about the card here.
