Time To Match Your AAdvantage Accounts and Your Dividend Miles Accounts

imagesAmerican Airlines and Us Airways are contacting frequent flier members so that they can combine your Dividend Miles activity into your AAdvantage account when the programs combine in the second quarter of this year.

If you only have a Dividend Miles account, you don’t need to do anything. American AAdvantage will create an AAdvantage account for you, assign you a new number and automatically transfer your Dividend Miles balances to your new AAdvantage account.

If you have accounts in both programs, you need to

1. Review your personal information
Log in to your Dividend Miles and AAdvantage accounts to make sure your date of birth, email, personal and contact information are updated. To ensure account security, your information must be identical in both accounts for the match to be successful. You’ll see a prompt to match when you log in.  Once you know that your information matches in both accounts, enter your account number of the other program.

2.  You’ll receive a confirmation once your accounts are matched. This is the email confirmation that I received…..

“We matched your frequent flyer accounts
For now, nothing changes for you. You can keep earning miles in either program on American and US Airways.
In second quarter 2015, we will:
Combine all award mileage, elite-qualifying activity and million mile balances from both programs into your AAdvantage account
Update your elite status based on your qualifying activity
Email you when your Dividend Miles account has been combined with your AAdvantage account”
