There are some positive changes coming to both the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve card beginning on August 16, 2021. And the annual fees on both cards will remain the same.
Chase Sapphire Preferred Card
You will earn extra points on your purchases as follows:
- 5x on travel booked through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal (this is the same rate that you are getting with your Freedom Unlimited on these travel purchases).
- 3x on dining (this is the same rate that you are getting with your Freedom Unlimited on these dining purchases)
- 3x on select streaming
- 3x on online grocery services (excluding Target, Walmart and wholesale clubs).
In addition, starting after your next cardmember anniverasry, you will get a $50 hotel credit per cardmember year for bookings that you make through the Ultimate Rewards travel site.
Finally, after paying your annual fee, each year, you will be getting a 10% anniversary point bonus on all points earned during the year (excluding any sign-up bonuses).
Chase Sapphire Reserve
You will earn extra points on your purchases as follows:
- 10x points on the dining when you book thru the Chase Dining site
- 10x points on hotels and rental cars booked through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal
- 5x points on airfare booked through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal
