My email from Amex Platinum yesterday detailed all of the extra benefits due to Covid-19 that we have been learning about over the last few days. In addition, there was some extra information in the email about a $200 statement credit from Amex Travel. Specifically, my email said….
“In appreciation of your Card Membership, when you renew your Platinum Card this year, you can start earning up to $200 in statement credits after you make eligible purchases with American Express Travel through 12/31/21. Details to come.”
I learned a bit more after some research…
The $200 credit can be used by you if you renew your card between April 1 and December 31, 2020 and will be valid between August 2020 and December 2021. It can be used for eligible travel purchases through the American Express Travel Portal.
