This is a later update to my older updates about Alaska Airlines status changes due to covid.
When you join the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Program, you are a Mileage Plan member. Additionally, the program offers MVP, MVP Gold and MVP 75k elite status.
You can reach Medallion Status through miles or segments flown in a calendar year. The requirements are as follows:
Qualifying flights | MVP | MVP Gold | MVP Gold 75K |
---|---|---|---|
Eligible miles earned on Alaska Airlines | 20,000 | 40,000 | 75,000 |
Combo of eligible miles earned on Alaska Airlines and elite-qualifying partners | 25,000 | 50,000 | 90,000 |
Segments flown on Alaska Airlines and elite-qualifying partners1 | 30 | 60 | 90 |
Because of covid, Alaska Airlines has made some updates to the status program.
They are increasing the EQMs you earn on flights. Through June 30, December 31, 2021, you will earn 50% more Mileage Plan elite-qualifying miles (EQM) for Alaska Airlines flights.
For members who held elite status as of January 1, 2021 that are unable to re-qualify by year end 2021, your status is extended through April 30, 2022
To keep your status through December 31, 2022, earn the following number of base flight miles between January 1 and April 30, 2022.
MVP members: 5,000 miles
MVP Gold members: 10,000 miles
MVP Gold 75K members: 20,000 miles
