I Am Going For World Of Hyatt Globalist Status In 2021!

Update-I am a Globalist Member!

I am going to try to become a World Of Hyatt Globalist member! I am taking advantage of the 50% reduced requirements in 2021 because of covid. Specifically, in 2021, you will need the following to earn World Of Hyatt status….

Discoverist status will require five Tier-Qualifying Nights or 12,500 Base Points
Explorist status will require 15 Tier-Qualifying Nights or 25,000 Base Points
Globalist status will require 30 Tier-Qualifying Nights or 50,000 Base Points

As I have written about extensively, YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO ACHIEVE WORLD OF HYATT TOP TIER ELITE STATUS strictly based on spending on your Chase World Of Hyatt Credit card

Normally, for Globalist, you need 60 nights and you start with 5 for having the World Of Hyatt card, so you need 55 more. That spend requirement is IMO a prohibitive $137,500 in spend. (55/2*5,000). BUT! with the new guidelines, I only need 30 nights (25 more) to reach Globalist status. That is a bit easier for me in that my spend will need to be $62,500 in spend on the card. (25/2*5,000). And I have a stay coming up in April for my daughter’s swim meet (assuming that moves forward) and will try to stay at Hyatts at some inevitable college visits that I will need to take this spring. These stays will lower my spend requirement from the hefty $62,500. I think I am going to go for the status!

And, if I can get it in 2021, I will be able to keep it till February 2023. Reason being, if I acquire the nights between January 1 and December 31 of any given year, I keep elite status through February of the second Calendar Year following qualification. So if I can lock in Globalist status in 2021, I would maintain Globalist status for the remainder of 2021, all of 2022, and through February 2023, unless of course, I re-qualify for Globalist status during that time. I am about to embark on being an empty nester with hopefully a lot of travel in my future. I foresee some Hyatt stays!
