With the sexy flexible rewards points programs like American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi ThankYou Rewards, your points from spending (and bonuses) will not post until your statement closes. So sometimes when you have a time contraint, it may be too late to use your rewards once the rewards post.
Capital One and Barclays are different. The cards offered through both Captial One and Barclays, post the points as you spend. So for example, if you spend $200 at the sueprmarket on May 10, the points post that day (or soon after). You do not have to wait for your statement to close, to see AND USE the rewards in your account.
Just a heads up for planning purposes if you gave that big trip you are planning and anticpate using rewards.
