In normal times, when you fly Southwest, you earn Southwest Rapid Rewards points based on the amount and type of fare you choose. The bigger the fare, the more points you earn. Southwest currently has 3 fare classes: Wanna Get Away, Anytime and Business Select. You earn with the fares as follows:
Wanna Get Away-You earn 6x points per $1
Anytime-You earn 10X points per $1
Business Select-You earn 12 points per $1.
In Covid times, you can earn double Rapid Rewards points when you register, book, and travel by Aug. 31, 2020. So your earning on flights will look like this:
Wanna Get Away-You earn 12x points per $1
Anytime-You earn 20X points per $1
Business Select-You earn 24 points per $1.
Note, bonus points will not count toward A-List, A-List Preferred, or Companion Pass qualification.
