The Delta Changes To The Delta Changes

Even after yesterday’s changes, it still looks like Rob will just have Platinum Delta Medallion Status in 2024 and not beyond that. 😢

NO CHANGE-The program is still nixing the MQMs and the MQD waiver, the way that I have gotten status in the past while being able to supplement our MQMS with spending. Delta is relying solely on MQDs to earn status. 📊

NEW- Delta lowered the MQD requirements. Silver from 6k to 5k, Gold from 12k to 10k, Platinum from 18k to 15k, Diamond from 35k to 28k. ✅

NEW-And if you have a Delta Reserve or Delta a platinum (biz or personal) you will start 2024 with $2500 MQDs. ✔️

This still won’t help me! For my family, we will not be spending $15k on flights in 2024 to keep Platinum. We usually fly for free! Also, I don’t even think there is anything that good about Silver or Gold status, do you?❓

NEW-Instead of the terrible conversion for the MQM Rollover Miles to MQDs or SkyMiles that was initially “rolled” out 🤣, Delta will now offer members a third option for their MQM Rollover. Members can extend their status for one year per EVERY 100k MQMs. For those of you with lots (and lots) of MQMs, it looks like you can extend for 2025 and beyond if you have the numbers. 🤪

NEW-On the better side, if you have a Delta Reserve Card, you now get 15 visits instead of 10. And if you have a layover and need to access 2 Delta Sky Clubs, that will just count as one visit. A lot of the other ways to gain lounge access, which were in Delta’s original plans, still stand. ☑️

For Amex Platinum cardholders , your annual visits went up to 10 from 6. 👌
