Chase Plans To Cancel Rob’s Chase Disney Premier Visa Card

Unknown-2
Rob’s Disney Premier card is about to suffer the same fate that mine did back in May of last year.  And we are not new to this turn of events. Back in June, 2015, American Express canceled my Hilton Honors card.  That same month, Citibank canceled my Citi Hilton HHonors Visa card.

Now Chase is planning to cancel Rob’s Disney Premier Visa card.  Chase stated in the letter, that he got via mail, that in 60 days, they are closing his account due to 2 years of inactivity.  (Remember, we got this card because I wanted Disney gift cards for our trip to Disney).

Personally, it doesn’t affect us if Chase cancels his card.  We never use it anyway.  However, what would affect him a bit would be losing the credit line (albeit small) that is attached to this card.  Don’t forget, losing credit hurts utilization ratio and ultimately negatively affects credit score.  Not so fast Chase!

I will call Chase customer service and have Rob’s credit line moved from this card to another of Rob’s Chase cards like his new Chase World Of Hyatt card.  Remember, it is always better to move a credit line when you cancel a card or when a card will be canceled for you!
