The Citi ThankYou Premier card is getting a make over come August 23, 2020. The bonus categories are changing and there are some new benefits too. Currently with the card, the bonus categories are as follows:
1. Earn 3x ThankYou Points on Travel that includes Airfare, Hotels, Travel Agencies, Gas and Parking.
2. Earn 2x ThankYou Points on Dining out and Entertainment (click here for a detailed definition of entertainment)
3. Earn 1X ThankYou Points on other purchases.
Starting on August 23rd, the earning rates will be as follows:
1. Earn 3x ThankYou Points on supermarkets, restaurants, air travel, hotels and gas stations (and on other travel through 4/9/2021).
2. Earn 2x points on Entertainment, but only through 4/9/21.
3. Earn 1X ThankYou Points on other purchases.
There is also the new benefit of $100 Annual Hotel Savings where starting August 23, 2020, you will get $100 off a single hotel stay of $500 or more booked through thankyou.com or by calling 1-800-THANKYOU once per calendar year.
However, this following change os not so good….Points redeemed for airfare through the ThankYou Travel Center will no longer get 25% more value.
