I constantly misplace credit cards and hesitate calling because I don’t want to cancel the card. I know in most cases, it will eventually turn up. (in a pocket) However, while it is missing, it would be nice to know I have access to the following tool….
If you ever misplace your Citi card, Quick Lock lets you instantly protect it without having to change your account number or go through the steps of ordering a new card. It basically buys you peace-of-mind and time to find your card. When you find your card, you can unlock it.
When you lock your card, Citi will not allow any new purchases or cash advances. However, recurring purchases, balance transfers, payments, credits, returns, dispute adjustments, applicable account fees and rewards redemptions will continue to be processed with no disruption. Note that you’re still responsible for making payments even while your card is locked.
I do not often use my Citi cards, so I do not often misplace them. But it will be nice to know that this feature is available to me, in case I ever do.
