The usual sign-up offer for the American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Card and the American Express Starwood Preferred Guest Business Card is 25,000 and 30,000 Starwood Preferred Guest Points (Starpoints) respectively, after you spend $3,000/$5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening. But until March 30, 2016, this initial sign-up bonus has increased to 35,000 bonus Starpoints after you spend $3,000’/$5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. There is a $0 introductory annual fee for the card the first year, then $95.
Don’t forget, with the cards, you earn 2 points per $1 spent at Starwood Resorts and 1 point for every dollar you spend on all your other purchases and there are no foreign transaction fees with the card.
