Barclaycard has made the following NEGATIVE changes to the rules/benefits of the Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard.
1. Redemption Bonus Changes-The bonus miles you receive when you redeem for travel statement credits will be reduced from 10% miles back to 5% miles back. Boo!
2. Minimum Redmeption Threshold Changes-Under the old (current) rules you were able to redeem a minimum of 2,500 miles for a $25 statement credit on a travel purchase. Under the new rules, you will need a minimum of 10,000 miles to redeem a minimum of a $100 statement credit on a travel purchase. Boo!
3. Additional Changes – Purchases classified as tourist attractions (including expositions, botanical gardens, craft shows, museums, and wineries) will no longer count as travel purchases and therefore will not qualify for statement credits. Boo!

For existing cardholders, these rules go into effect in November 2015 for those who got the card before September 30, 2014 and go into effect in August, 2016 for those of us (me) who got the card after October 1, 2014.
