Despite the recent negative changes to the card, one thing that I really like about the Arrival cards is that your Barclaycard Arrival miles are constantly being updated as you use the card. This means you always have access to your current mileage balance. This is in contrast to other cards linked to other rewards programs, where points/miles get posted to your loyalty account after your credit card’s statement closing date.
I like having access to the current balance because it really helps me with planning purposes as to how much more I need to spend when I am trying to earn miles to get a travel statement credit for a travel purchase. Recall, I am currently working on my Barclays miles balance right now for our summer trip to Cooperstown. I have a long way to go but at least I know “exactly” how long.
