I Used The Wrong Card Trying To Get A Travel Credit

Unknown

Ugh, I made a card blunder and it cost us a few hundred in travel (temporarily).  Rob recently got the Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard with a 50,000 Arrival mile sign-up bonus.  These 50,000 can be redeemed for $500 in statement credits on travel purchases.  So I thought I was so smart and brought the card with us on our recent trips to Chicago and Boston and paid for many of our taxis and parking in the cities with this Arrival Plus card.

Well guess what I did?  I took the card belonging to Rob that was linked to MY Arrival card account and we used that.  So there was no 50,000 points to be used for travel.  Instead, I am now sitting with a card balance of a few hundred dollars in travel charges that I need to pay for.

Oh well, but like I said it is temporary as we will use the 50,000 points during our upcoming trip to Paris and Amsterdam this winter.  It is really a non-issue because Arrival miles do not expire.  It is just annoying that I made this mistake.  In fact, I actually made it for the second time.  I had made a previous mistake using the wrong Chase British Airways Visa card awhile back.

Points Mom-you need to be more careful!
