I recently wrote about the negative change to the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card. I Recall, just recently, Chase announced and sent notice to it’s IHG cardmembers that the free night award (issued after May 1, 2018) will now only be redeemable at properties up to 40,000 IHG Rewards points.
What was even more annoying to me is that Rob just got this card and when he applied last fall, the terms stated that the free night was for ANY IHG property.
Many others were annoyed too and Chase has rectified their actions. IHG has confirmed on Twitter that the free night certificates issued before May 1, 2019, will be unrestricted, meaning they can be used at any IHG property. Yay, we have 2 certificates coming before May 1, 2019 so we will definitely get 2 more nights at a higher end IHG property.
Thanks Chase, it was the right thing to do!
