September, the beginning of the school year and possibly the beginning of your kids’ activity fees. In my town, many of these activities are paid for in one chunk at the beginning versus monthly.
If you will be laying out large sums for activities, keep the following in mind. If you are thinking about getting a credit card that has a minimum spend bonus, consider applying in late summer or early fall. Similarly, if you are going for an annual spend bonus, you may be able to knock off a big piece in the fall.
Each September, I usually take advantage of this earning potential. Don’t ask me about our tennis bill!
