In the final days of the 50,000 bonus point offer, I had Rob apply for the Chase United MileagePlus Explorer Visa. The current offer is to spend $3,000 in the first 3 months to get 50,000 United MileagePlus miles. The offer expires June 2nd, and reverts back to the 30,000 point offer.
I applied for Rob online and he was not automatically approved. Instead, he got the message saying that Chase is “reviewing his application”. Just as I advise in #6 of Let’s Get Started To Earning Free Travel, I had Rob call Chase Lending Services (888-609-7805 or 888-270-2127) To ensure that the application went through, he told Chase to move some of his credit from his Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card over to this new Chase United Card. Chase said Sure!
This is a win-win situation if you are concerned about having access to additional credit. You keep the same amount of credit but you just spread it over 2 cards. I believe that the minimum amount of a credit line on a card that Chase requires is $5,000. Rob did this same thing when he originally got the Marriott card. Looking forward to adding 50,000 United MileagePlus Miles to our portfolio!!!!
