When the new line of Hilton Honors Cards From American Express were released, Amex replaced Rob’s Hilton Honors Surpass card with the Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card. This card had a comparable annual fee of $95.
We just received a bill for the annual fee. However, Rob has never used this card-I mean never. I got in touch with Amex and requested that they downgrade this card to the no fee Hilton Honors American Express Card, which they did.
Don’t forget, downgrading is a good alternative to canceling a card and I have done it often.
