The Chase Freedom Unlimited is a CASH BACK Credit Card where you earn 1.5% cash back per dollar spent on all of your purchases. HOWEVER, where I think it makes the most sense to pick up this card, is if you you already have a Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Sapphire Reserve. The usual sign up bonus is to earn $150 cash back (or 15,000 Ultimate Rewards Points if applicable) after you make $500 in purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.
Before you apply, make sure your ability to get the sign-up bonus is not limited by Chase restrictions on an additional sign-up bonus or the Chase 5/24 rule.
With the card, there is NO ANNUAL FEE. Your points can be redeemed for cash back. When you use points to redeem for cash, each point is worth $0.01 (one cent), which means that 100 points equals $1 in redemption value.
Ultimate Rewards-If you can redeem your cash back points as Ultimate Rewards, you can redeem each point at 1.25 cents (if you have a Sapphire Preferred) or 1.5 cents (if you have a Sapphire Reserve).
