On December 31, 2015, I had one day and $750 left to spend, where I would earn 10 Chase Ultimate Rewards points per $1 spent on the Chase Freedom’s card 4th quarter bonus categories, one of which was Amazon. Recall, you normally earn 5 points per dollar on up to $1,500 spent in bonus categories each quarter. But around November 23rd, Chase hit a “reset” button and offered a new max of $1,500 to spend while earning 10 points per $1 spent.
I WANTED this maximum amount of Chase Ultimate Rewards points from the offer. 10 points per dollar spent was too good for me to pass up. But, I had only spent about $750 during the promotion period. Even after I made a last ditch effort buying Amazon gift cards as holiday gifts, but I still was $750 short.
Happy Holidays to me! I bought a $750 Amazon gift card, on my Chase Freedom card, for myself on December 31st. I did not want to give up those 7,500 Chase Ultimate Rewards points and I know I will be able to use the gift card. I shop on Amazon a lot!
