The annual fee on my Chase British Airways Visa Signature Card just became due. I no longer use this card and haven’t in years. I had originally gotten it a long time ago when we were planning a trip to London. Back then, it helped me save about 12K on our British Airways business class flights. Later, I kept it and have used the Travel-Together ticket a few times. However, at this time, I no longer feel that the $95 annual fee is worth the benefits that i am taking advantage of and therefore, I am downgrading to the no-fee option.
I will likely never use this card as you get a mere 1 avios for every $2 spent (with the regular card the ratio is 1:1 on everyday purchases). But I did not have to cancel (not that it would have been a big deal if I did have to cancel). I prefer this downgrade option and use it when I can.
