Just under a year ago, I got the AAdvantage Aviator World Elite MasterCard with a 60,000 American AAdvantage Miles.
Fast forward, the $95 fee on the card is due this month. I have not touched since spending the initial money to secure the bonus.
I called Barclaycard and we were able to downgrade my card to a no fee AAdvantage Aviator World Elite MasterCard (without the “Red”), a card not available to the public, but only offered as a downgrade. Don’t forget, downgrading is a good alternative to canceling a card and I have done it quite often.
