I Am Downgrading Rob’s Bank Of America Premium Rewards Credit Card To The No Fee Travel Rewards Version

Recall that last year, Rob got the Bank Of America Premium Rewards Credit Card when it debuted with a 50,000 bonus point offer.  Fast forward, the $95 fee has become due again.  For those of you with not many cards, this card may be worth the fee as there is a $100 Airline Incidental Statement Credit annually for purchases such as seat upgrades, baggage fees, in-flight services, and airline lounge fees.  For Rob and I, we have airline credits with other cards, have cards that offer free checked bags and we often get into the lounges for free.  I do not want the pressure of having to use this $100 statement credit each year.

I called Bank Of America and asked if they could downgrade Rob’s card to the Bank Of America Travel Rewards Credit Card.  That card has no fee.  I prefer this downgrade option and use it when I can instead of canceling (not that it would have been a big deal if I did have to cancel).

I now await my Travel Rewards card.  Thx Bank Of America for offering the downgrade option.
