Hello From The Club at PHX Where They Are Confirming It Is Becoming A Centurion Lounge

There is no easy way to get to Aspen from New York, most flights require a layover in a different airport before continuing on to New York. Part of me looked forward to this layover as I love taking advantage of the lounge access that I get with my Sapphire Reserve (Priority Pass lounges) and my Amex Platinum card (Priority Pass lounges too, Centurion, and others).  I love the lounges despite the fact that I eat more crap than I ever would if I just sat at the gate. Nothing challenges my self control more than free cheddar popcorn and trail mix.

So when I knew we had a 3 hour layover in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, I immediately went to my Priority Pass app on my phone and found The Club at PHX.  I also noted that it said in my app that effective April 19, 2019, the lounge would no longer be part of the Priority Pass program.

I actually am here now and decided to ask how come the lounge was leaving and they confirmed that the lounge is actually becoming an American Express Centurion Lounge in the next year.  So the news that had been circulating back in December seems to be correct, there will be a new Amex Centurion Lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in the coming future.  Amex has been aggressive in opening up additional Centurion lounges over the last few years.  You can see all of the other locations of these lounges as well as the ones that are opening soon.

Don’t forget, you can gain access to the Centurion Lounges with an  American Express Platinum card as well as an American Express Business Platinum card.
