Below, I outline the main ways in which to earn and accumulate British Airways Avios.
1. Fly
Earn Avios flying with British Airways, their oneworld alliance partners and their other airline partners. For now, the amount you earn depends on which airline you fly, how far you fly, the cabin you fly in, the type of ticket you hold and your Executive Club tier.
2. Use your Chase British Airways Visa Signature Card
When you use your Chase British Airways Visa Signature Card you earn 3 Avios for every $1 spent on British Airways purchases and 1 Avios for every $1 spent on all other purchases.

3. Transfer points from American Express Membership Rewards
If you are a member of American Express Membership Rewards you can transfer your Membership Rewards points, in 1,000-point increments, to your British Airways Executive Club account. At the time of this post, your points transfer at 1:1 value. That means 1,000 Membership Rewards point equals 1,000 Avios.
4. Transfer points from Chase Ultimate Rewards
If you are a member of Chase Ultimate Rewards you can transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to your British Airways Executive Club account. Your points transfer at 1:1 value. That means one Ultimate Rewards point equals one Avios.
5. Transfer Miles From Capital One
If you have a Capital One Venture Rewards Card or VentureOne Rewards Card, or on the business side, a Capital One Spark Miles Business Card or Capital One Spark Miles Select Business Card, you can transfer the miles earned on those cards to Avios at a rate of 1:1.
6. Transfer Marriott Bonvoy Points to your Executive Club account
Marriott Bonvoy members can transfer 3 Marriott Bonvoy points to receive 1 Avios. Whenever you transfer 60,000 points, you get a 15,000 point bonus. So if you have 60,000 points, you can yield 25,000 miles…60,000 becomes 20,000 miles and the extra 15,000 that you get becomes 5,000 airline miles. Transfer your points here to your Executive Club account.
7. Transfer Bilt Points To Your Account
You can tranfser your Bilt Rewards Points to your Avios account at 1:1.
