Sure, twist my arm, I will apply for another Chase credit card that is offering a 50,000 Rapid Rewards points, the points program of Southwest Airlines. I do not fly Southwest that often, but that does not matter. Maybe I will one day and the 50,000 points will already be there waiting.
Back in November, 2013, I applied for and got approved for this card, the Chase Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier card. I needed to spend $2,000 in 3 months for 50,000 Rapid Rewards Points. Not a problem, as I just put this card in the front of my wallet for a little while and ultimately met the spend requirement. Don’t forget, this is money I would be spending anyway, but on a different card.
So now, if I ever plan to fly Southwest with my family, (and now with a start of 50,000 points, maybe I will), there are other ways for me to accumulate those Rapid Rewards points.
I get a 6,000 point anniversary bonus each year
I can earn 2 points per $1 spent on Southwest Airlines® and AirTran® Airways purchases made directly with the airlines. I also earn 2 points per $1 spent on Rapid Rewards Hotel and Rental Car Partners. Nice, Starwood is a partner. As I have said, I love Starwood Resorts!
I earn 1 point per $1 on all other purchases.
