American Express EveryDay Preferred Card is a Credit Card
With a credit card, you can carry a balance and accrue interest if necessary. Note this is not advised by me. The points game does not work well, if you are carrying a balance and accruing interest. See #4 in Let’s Get Started To Earning Free Travel. However, with the current offer for this card, there is a 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months.

Before you apply, make sure your ability to get the sign-up bonus is not limited by American Express lifetime language or the 5 card rule or the 90 day rule or the other factors language.

There are no additional cardholder fees.
Earn Points on Spending
1. Earn 3 points per dollar at U.S. supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1x).
2. Earn 2 points at US gas stations
3. Earn 2 points when you use your Card to book your trip through AmexTravel.com
4. Earn 1 point for every dollar you spend on all your other purchases.
Earn 50% Extra Points
Use your Card 30 or more times on purchases in a billing period and get 50% more points on those purchases.

Purchase Protection
Purchase Protection protects eligible purchases made with the Card in the event they are accidentally damaged or stolen for up to 90 days from the date of purchase.
Extended Warranty
When you use your card for eligible purchases, you can get up to one extra year added to the original manufacturer’s warranty. Applies to warranties of 5 years or less. Some exclusions apply.
Return Protection
If you try to return an eligible item within 90 days from the date of purchase and the merchant won’t take it back, American Express may refund the full purchase price (excluding shipping and handling), up to $300 per item, up to a maximum of $1,000 per calendar year per Card account, if you purchased it entirely with your eligible American Express Card. Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance
When you use your Eligible Card to reserve and pay for the Entire Rental and decline the collision damage waiver at the Rental Company counter, You can be covered for Damage to or Theft of a Rental Vehicle in a Covered Territory. Not all vehicle types or rentals are covered. Coverage is not available for vehicles rented in Australia, Italy, and New Zealand. This product provides secondary coverage and does not include liability coverage.

Trip Cancel Guard
Provides up to 75% reimbursement if you cancel your eligible nonrefundable flight at least two full calendar days before. Read more here.
