Rob has his own law firm and I try to direct him to charge as many business expenses as possible to his credit cards.  He mostly uses his American Express Business Gold Rewards Card, especially for advertising as he gets 3X Membership Rewards points per $1 spent.  But, his bank rep actually contacted him about the Chase Ink Plus card, and he contacted him at a time when there is a 60,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards bonus offer.  I told Rob to jump! at the card.  I have wanted this card a long time, and was hoping to get it one day in the future.

I now have a new assignment.  I will be combing through all of the business expenses that Rob currently puts on his Amex to see if they fall into one of the bonus categories of the Chase Ink Plus card.  The bonus points you can earn on this card are as follow:

1. Earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet and cable TV services each account anniversary year.

2. Earn 2X Ultimate Rewards points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent in combined purchases at gas stations and hotel accommodations when purchased directly with the hotel each account anniversary year.

3.  You also earn 1X point on all other purchases.

I will personally only look to switch the 5x expenses from the Amex to the Ink.  After all, Rob already earns 2x Membership Rewards points on gas with his Amex and he does not travel for business.

Between the 60,000 bonus offer and all the points Rob will earn in the 5X categories, I am excited that we are going to have all of these extra Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Can’t wait to use them!
