As I have told you before, it is rare that we pay for hotels.  But when we do, I make sure that we earn the maximum amount of points on our paid stays. We splurged on the Atlantis.  It was a bucket list destination of mine, and this past Spring break my kids were the perfect age, so I went for it.  (Don’t forget, we flew for free on JetBlue points!!!)
Marriott Hotels
Note, now that it is part of the Autograph Collection and therefore a Marriott Resort, it could be booked using Marriott Rewards points.  But that was not in the cards for us.  You can read here about why we did not use points for this stay. Since we paid, we earned Marriott Rewards points.  Our 1 week, 2 room stay cost us $5,820.  (A big splurge for us).  As a Marriott Rewards member, we usually earn 10 dollars per $1 spent at Marriott Resorts.  Stays at the Atlantis dictate that members earn this 10 points per $1 spent on room rate only.  So we earned 58,520 base points.  Also, since Rob has a Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card, he has automatic Silver Elite Membership in the Marriott Rewards Club.  This Silver Elite membership gives us a 20% bonus on points earned.  Therefore, we got an additional 11,704 Marriott Rewards points on the stay.  (58,520 X 20%).  You can learn more about Marriott Rewards Elite Membership here.
