Rob-Now You Have A Chase IHG Rewards Card Too!

A few years back, I got the Chase IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card in anticipation of a free stay at the Venetian/Palazzo in Vegas.  Since I have gotten the card, I have had fun using the annual free night at ANY IHG property and have used it in Boston the last 2 years.

Recently, there was an increased bonus of 80,000 IHG Rewards points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening.  I couldn’t pass it up and applied for Rob in the final seconds before the offer expiration date.

Because, of the many cards that Rob and I both have, it is typical for us to get a response of “pending” when we apply for a new card.  This happened with this Chase application as well.  It was on my list to call Chase to push through the application by reallocating some of Rob’s credit, but now that it is unnecessary. Rob received the card the other day, with a very generous credit line I may add.  Yup, more proof that this game is good for your credit score!

Recall, with the card, there is no annual fee the first year, then the fee is $49.  With the card, you earn 5 points per $1 spent at all hotels within the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG), 2 points per $1 spent at restaurants, gas and groceries and 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases made with your card.  You receive 1 free night every year after your cardmember anniversary at any IHG property.  There are no foreign transaction fees and there is a 10% rebate on IHG Rewards Club point redemptions.
