The Points Mom

Palmetto Bluff With The Oldest Of Friends-Old Not In The Good Way :-)

I am heading back to Palmetto Bluff, SC for a long and luxurious weekend with 6 of my BFFs from high school.  We are all turning 50 this year-ahh!  We are set with a place to stay as one of my fortunate friends owns a home in this beautiful waterfront golf community.  However, I still needed to book my flight down to Savannah.

Luckily, I just collected 120,000 JetBlue TrueBlue points because both Rob and I got the JetBlue Plus MasterCard each with a 60,000 point bonus offer.  The 120K is sitting in my loyalty account because of the JetBlue TrueBlue Family Pool.  Unfortunately, the offer for this card is now back down to 30K.  But with this LINK, you can get 40K.

I found a direct flight on JetBlue in and out of JFK for 19,500 JetBlue TrueBlue Points, a mere 20% of the points that I amassed by securing those cards.  The cost of the flight would have been $262.

As for my value calculation (did I lose value?), I actually did not lose value on this redemption.  Recent valuations assign JetBlue TrueBlue points a value of 1.3 cents per point.  My 19,500 points that I used can be valued at $253.50.  My flight would have cost $262.  I actually gained value!

This weekend cannot arrive soon enough.  We did it last year too so I know what is coming!
