Negative Changes to the Chase Freedom Card

Unknown

One of the reasons that I use my Chase Freedom card on everyday purchases is because I don’t consider it a 1 to 1 (1 point for each dollar spent) credit card.  Because I had a Chase checking account, I was earning 10% Extra Points per $1 spent and 10 Bonus Points on every purchase.  For some reason, as of 12/31/15 Chase is taking these incentives away.   Below is the email I received from Chase the other day.  🙁   I do not think I am going to use my Freedom card all that much on everyday purchases in 2016.

We are making changes to the Ultimate Rewards program to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
• For Chase Checking Customers:
> After 12/31/2015, you will no longer earn the 10% Extra Points per $1 spent or the 10 Bonus Points on every purchase made with your Chase Freedom® card.
