How I Am Using Rob’s 2 Free Hyatt Bonus Nights Before They Expire

I recently wrote that I was having trouble finding a time to use Rob’s 2 free Hyatt nights that are expiring July 31, 2015.  Rob received these 2 free nights after he applied for and met the minimum spend on his Chase Hyatt Visa Card.

I have come up with a plan!  We have 2 early morning flights coming up.  The first flight is   my flight with Jessie to Tampa in April for her annual swim meet in St. Petersburg, Fl.  We have flights that depart at 9:25 am from Newark.  We will have to leave from our home to get to the airport (during rush hour) by about 6:30am at the latest.  Yawn!  So I booked us a room the night before at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson.  We can sleep at least an hour later!!!!!!  Remember, this is the hotel that my sister and her husband stayed in using Rob’s anniversary Hyatt night.

I used the second one in Denver.  This summer, Rob and I are heading to Colorado Springs.  For free by the way, you can read about how I pulled that off here.  Coming home, we have 8 am flights from Denver.  Instead of spending our last night in Colorado Springs, I booked us a room in Denver at the Grand Hyatt Denver.  Another extra hour of sleep, although we still have to get up soooo early!!!  Rob wants to go to work that day.   🙁

I should note, that unlike the anniversary awards, which can be redeemed at any Category 1-4 property, these 2 free bonus nights could be used at ANY Hyatt, even Hyatts in Category 7, the highest category.  Unfortunately, I am facing an expiration date and can’t fit the nights in anywhere else.  So I am using the nights in Jersey City at a Category 4 property and in Denver at a Category 3 property.  Oh well, beggars…….
