Greetings From The Rocky Mountain Lounge At Calgary Airport

logoI booked our flights for our trip to British Columbia 1) later than I usually book (I booked 3 months prior, I usually book 6 months prior) and 2) for a mere 25,000 aeroplan miles per flight.  So our flights were not ideal, and my family and I have found ourselves with a 3 hour layover in the Calgary airport.  So we headed and are now hanging in the Rocky Mountain Lounge in Concourse B.

I was able to access the lounge for free because my American Express Business Platinum card allows me to enroll in Priority Pass Select at no additional cost.  This program gives me access to numerous airport lounges that are part of the Priority Pass Select Program.  The Rocky Mountain Lounge in Calgary Airport is one of those lounges.

However, my Priority Pass Select membership does not get my family into any of the Priority Plus Select VIP Lounges, it only grants me access.  I had to pay a hefty $27 per dollar guest fee for the other 4 members of my family.  So it was $108 for all of us to get in.

However, we decided it was worth it, as there is definitely enough food that we can eat lunch here.  Had we not been in this lounge, we would have likely eaten lunch in the airport, and it would have been a real sit down lunch due to the length of the layover.  Not to mention how enjoyable it is in the lounge.  It is quiet and calm.  We have our own private tv and charging stations and even bathroom as there is hardly anyone here.  To Rob and I, these benefits were worth the $108 (less what our lunch would have been 🙂  )
