We just returned from Telluride.  It was an amazing trip even if we needed more snow.  (It snowed about 27 inches the day after we left and stranded us at the airport an extra day—really? )

Even though we flew for free to Telluride/Montrose, we needed to pay for the hotel, as Telluride is a locale that does not have any hotels in which we could have used points.  Sometimes, if it is somewhere we really want to go, we pay!!

We had an amazing week’s stay at the Peaks Resort in Mountain Village.  We had a very large junior studio suite which was perfect for my family of 5.  The Peaks ski in ski out was the best we have ever experienced.  When we came out in the mornings, our skis and poles were lined up for us in the snow.  When we returned at the end of the day, the ski valet helped us undo our ski bindings.  (I actually felt bad letting him!!).  Inside at the boot valet at the end of the day, we had hot chocolate and hot apple cider awaiting us.  The hotel, was one downhill trail to two ski lifts.  It could not have been any easier!

IMG_1400The hotel itself was great.  We had 2 amazing dinners in the hotel at Palmyra.  Every afternoon there was live music in the lobby.  The pool was great for the kids as it was indoors and outdoors and had a really fun waterside.  The spa looked great although I did not have time to try it.  Rob really liked the gym!  and there were also classes offered every morning at the gym.  There was a game room, laundry and a buffet breakfast offered every morning.  The only negative about the hotel, in my opinion, is that is was about a 5 minute walk to the gondola that takes you into the town of Telluride.  We ate dinner in Telluride many nights of our stay and it was annoying to have to walk so far to the gondola, not to mention back to the hotel on full stomachs in the cold!

To pay for our stay, we used our Chase Sapphire Preferred card as we get 2x Ultimate Rewards points on hotel charges.  In addition, we used our card for all of our meals in Telluride, as we also earned 2x Ultimate Rewards points spent on dining.

I love my Chase Sapphire Preferred!!!!!
