American Express Business Gold Rewards Card is making some changes to the way you earn bonus points for category spend. Currently, you earn 3 points per dollar on flights, and 2 points per dollar on gas. In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on purchases for advertising, shipping and purchases made directly from select computer hardware, software and cloud computing providers. You earn 2x Membership Rewards points in the remaining four categories and 1x points on all other purchases. 3X and 2X points are received only for the first $100,000 in purchases in each of the five categories per year. 1X points thereafter.
For me, this change is an extremely positive one. Rob spends a lot of $ in advertising for his law firm. We used to earn 2x Membership Rewards points on these charges. Now we can earn 3X! Guess what category I will choose? 🙂
