Amex Everyday Not For Me-My Food Shopping Bills Are Too High

My weekly food shopping bills are on average about $200 per week.  I have a family of 5 after all and I do cook dinner for them most nights.  So that is about $10,000 per year that I spend on groceries.

With the American Express Everyday Credit Card, you earn 2x Membership Rewards points per dollar at supermarkets but only on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1x).  This does not even come close to my $10,000 grocery bill.

However, if you do think you spend less than 6K and would like a no fee card where you can earn American Express Membership Rewards points, you should consider this card.  There is also the added feature of  getting  20% more points on your 20th and 20th+ purchases in a billing period.  Do you use just one card for all of your purchases?  Do you make at least 20 purchases per month?  These are questions you must ask yourself to figure out if this card is for you.

For me, I prefer to use my American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card for my grocery purchases, despite the $175 annual fee.  With this card, I earn 2x Membership Rewards points per dollar supermarkets and gas stations.  Maybe if gas was not an additional bonus category, I would consider trading in my card for the no fee Everyday card.  But I spend way too much $ on gas.  I need a card that will give me extra points on gas too!!
